About the LET

The Licensure Exam for Teachers (LET), also known as the Board Exam for Teachers, is administered by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) through Republic Act No. 7836 (Philippine Teachers Professionalization Act of 1994). Passing the LET is mandatory for teaching in public or private schools in the Philippines.

The exam is offered in two levels: Elementary (for grades 1-6) and Secondary (for high school), with each level testing different competencies required for effective teaching practice.

  • 150 questions per component (300-450 total)
  • Conducted twice yearly (March & September)
  • General average of 75% required to pass
  • No rating below 50% in any component
